A Step at a Time
The canvas primarily consists of a vast white expanse that dominates the visual field. Towards the right side of this expanse, a small and unassuming blue rectangle emerges, drawing the viewer’s attention. This blue shape serves as a focal point, creating a point of interest within the composition.
The white space surrounding the blue rectangle evokes a sense of vastness and possibility, suggesting a blank canvas or a fresh start. It symbolises the uncharted territories of the unknown. It’s as if this canvas represents a journey or a process of exploration, where every step forward is a step into the limitless white expanse.
The artwork’s narrative takes a fascinating turn with the inclusion of black splatters that sprawl out from the blue shape. These splatters resemble celestial bodies in a universe, clustering around the blue rectangle as if it were a gravitational centre. This juxtaposition of the small, contained blue shape against the expansive, chaotic black splatters invites viewers to ponder themes of order and chaos, control and randomness, or perhaps the idea that even small actions can have far-reaching consequences.
