I’m a self-taught artist based in Johannesburg, originally from Ivory Park Township in the East of the city. My work is deeply rooted in the township environment, reflecting the strong connection I have to my community. I draw inspiration from the everyday lives of ordinary people in the township, using charcoal, watercolours, and acrylics on paper to tell stories and share lived experiences.
My style is defined by bold charcoal strokes softened with gentle shading, paired with bright colours that bring vibrance and a vivid simplicity to each piece.
The heart of my inspiration comes from the daily lives of ordinary South Africans, especially those living in the townships. Whether it’s schoolchildren in uniform, kids playing in the dusty streets, or adults bustling through the day creating traffic as they go about their errands—these moments all feed into my work.
