My work is a fusion of old school drama comic strips, like Modesty Blaise, graphic novel and pop art. I draw inspiration from old school storytelling and attempt to weave narratives that capture the essence of day-to-day life, experiences, nostalgia, personal experiences, exchanges and writing, while at the same time exploring contemporary themes in pursuit of visual tales. With this in mind I want to establish a rapport with audiences that have their own stories fostering a shared sense of nostalgia and connection.
I refer to my medium as mixed media digital, layered elements comprise of textured snaps from my mobile phone and even dabs of mascara from my wife’s makeup bag combined with a collection of dirty brushes, my illustrations are drawn on a Wacom tablet.
