I aim to create art that resonates with a diverse range of individuals.
Art and people are my true passions.

About the Artist

I’m Lisa Nell, a Cape Town-based visual artist born in 1991. My preferred canvas is acrylic paint, and while I’m currently experimenting with mixed media, I have plans to explore various other artistic mediums in the future.

I aim to create art that resonates with a diverse range of individuals. Through vivid colours and textures, I hope to stir emotions and elicit feelings in people who engage with my work. I want my art to bring a sense of joy and happiness to anyone who experiences it.

My passion for art has been with me since a very young age. I exhibited great potential as a child, and I honed my skills through local art classes. While I am primarily self-taught and lack formal art education, my inspiration stems from emotions, daily life, nature, and a plethora of other subjects. I identify myself as an Artistic Creative Visionary, and I live by the belief that art is an integral part of my soul.

Beyond my art, I’m an adventurous and free-spirited individual who cherishes outdoor activities and quality time with my family. Art and people are my true passions. In my free time, I enjoy teaching pop-up Sip & Paint classes, igniting creativity in others.

Formally, I hold qualifications in financial management and supply chain management. Currently, I collaborate with Benguela Art Gallery in Hermanus, as well as YOU&I Art Gallery in Kloof Nek & Sea Point. In June 2022, I participated in a three-month group exhibition titled “The Winter Show” in Claremont, Cape Town. Moreover, I’m part of an upcoming group exhibition at ART B Gallery, set to commence on April 1, 2023. The series I’ll be presenting in this exhibition is a visual representation of vibrant colors and textures.
