About the Artist

I am a creative mother of 3 who has always loved to immerse herself in art, music, books, and family and have a love for interiors, leopard print, and a slight obsession with the colour pink.

I believe life should be a continuous journey of learning and developing ourselves, always seeking inspiration from the world around us.

I am at my happiest in my studio at home. A fabulous playlist or an old LP on the turntable, a scented candle burning, a glass of red wine amongst my brushes, and a lazy cat or 2 stretched out, belly up on the sofa and hours ahead of me creating.

The beauty and emotions I see and feel during interactions with people, animals, and media images, the written word and lyrics, that we cross paths with throughout our lives, are the inspiration for my artworks. My artworks can bring memories and emotions to the space and make the observer reflect on themselves, others, and the variety in life.

These together bring my portraits of people and animals to life in my unique pop art-inspired style. I use bold or unusual colour combinations and crisp clean backgrounds on large canvas pieces, developing and adjusting the style of the piece as I go, sometimes incorporating song lyrics that resonate with me and with the piece. These original pieces are then scanned and reverse printed onto Acrylic “glass” as limited edition prints, mostly with different writing on the Acrylic glass on each piece making it unique. Acrylic glass has a high refractive index. This enhances the vibrancy and depth of the colours in my artwork and also creates clarity and brightness, allowing the prints to appear crisp, clear, and strong.

Occasionally I leave my easel to be at my desk painting small delicate Watercolours, mainly of the female form.

When I am not painting, I am on the school run, reading, shopping with my girls, cooking up a storm, walking the dogs, snuggling the cats, practicing some yoga, taking a course or 2, and, catching up with my girlfriends for some essential humour at ourselves.
