About the Artist

I hail from the beautiful city of Cape Town, which has been home throughout my life.

While painting has always been a cherished pastime, my academic path led me towards the study of graphic design following my school days. However, life had other plans in store, and I changed course to become an accountant.

In recent years, my passion for painting has grown immensely, to the point where it has become an all-encompassing pursuit. To devote more time to my passion, I made a decision to reduce my commitments at the NGO where I’ve been employed.

The wellspring of my creativity draws from diverse sources, with a special nod to old family slides and photographs that invoke a sense of nostalgia, transporting me to simpler times. My artistic focus primarily centers around the portrayal of people in various life situations.

The world of art has no shortage of luminaries who inspire my work, spanning both contemporary and historical realms. Among them, the work of artists like Richard Diebenkorn, David Hockney, and Edward Hopper serve as beacons guiding my artistic journey
