Having lived in London for the passed 20 years I could not help but notice, over my career as a press photographer, while rushing from assignment to assignment & from one end of the city to the other.
That I was driving by so many magical pictures and beautiful graffiti filled walls everyday.
It eventually become unforgivable to continue to do so. As the walls were constantly changing and the same arrangements never stayed for too long, either being defaced or pasted & sprayed over.

So towards the end of my career as I began to slow down, I made a conscious effort to stop and take more of these pictures.
The pictures were taken over my last 7 years living in London, forming a project that I am presenting called “TALKING WALLS”.

As the concept evolved, it took on a new direction, motivated to present the graffiti walls in such a way, that they made a picture worth having on your own wall.
The Process involved taking photos over a 7 year period of various graffiti walls of interest. That I would then clean up via editing process which extended to the resizing and repositioning.
The Frames had to have a balance of colour, text, sense of humour & unmistakable London feel. To adorn the walls of homes, restaurants.

Something that was interesting to look at, whilst maintaining the imperfections and an authentic feel.

Which for me is where the true beauty lies, that something that separates the work.
This photographic presentation of London’s graffiti walls is an expression of my own TASTE, Hopefully a taste that others can enjoy / love and embrace too.

The Project is influenced influenced by the Political satire of Graffiti Artist Banksy & the success Warhol had at presenting the familiar & iconic imagery.
